LOCAL TV HISTORY FANS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Joel Tator, who oversaw the KTLA Morning News in the early days and then later went on to a very successful career with Tom Snyder on the NBC "Tomorrow" show, will return to Channel 5 Morning News between 7 and 9 am Friday (May 20) to talk with the anchors about the show and his memories.

Radio Legend, Art Laboe, will be a TV guest this Sunday, May 22nd on the KTLA 5 Morning News at 7a with Anchors Chris Burrous and Mary Beth McDade. That day the telecast will be renamed the All Request and Dedication Art Laboe KTLA 5 Morning News. Tune in from 6a-9a, as there will be teases in the 6a hour and Art Laboe will appear live in several segments between 7a-9a.
Art Laboe is excited to return to the KTLA studios where circa late 1950s & early 1960s he hosted his own teen dance TV program, The Art Laboe Show. Kids would line up around the block to dance on the show while Laboe played records and introduced appearances and performances by some of the hottest stars of the day. The show ran nearly 3 years and much of that time broadcast from Scrivners, a drive-in restaurant.
